Little bit of history

In a kingdom far far away, there lives a princess who has amassed massive wealth that she doesn't know what to do with it. One day, she wakes up in the middle of the night and wonders how she could keep her wealth and multiply it through generations to come.

In this kingdom, there lives a man named Billy. Billy is acquainted with the queen and this happened through the Duke of Walaa; Daal. The Duke of Walaa, has a very strong connection to the queen. They grew up together in the same village but were raised by the same parents pretty far away from the kingdom. (but that's a story for another day). So as you can see, Daal is almost like a brother to the queen, and he had introduced Billy to her back in the day, before she knew she was in line for the throne. (She always knew she was royalty but not about being in the line up for the throne). The introduction was meant to get Billy in her good graces, so she could help him out considering she was one of the wealthy women in the village.

Billy has a cousin who has been battling depression and isn't sure exactly what he wants to do. He had tried being a researcher, but it didn't work out. He later tried animal farming but that proved a whole lot of steps away from his comfort zone and he didn't like it, plus the pay was shit anyway. One day, Duncan (Billy's cousin) decides to take a walk around the village and as he continues on the path, deep in thought, a hand grabs him and pulls him so fiercely, that he falls. He gets up filled with rage and agitation, that the first thing he looks for is a stick to assault his oppressor but when he turns around, he sees the princess with an astounded expression on her face. He is filled with a cocktail of emotions: rage, fear, astonishment, wonder and a series of thoughts run through his mind:"this is the princess", "What is she doing here?".....

Remember, Duncan is Billy's cousin, and Billy is acquainted with the Queen. Meaning, at some point, Billy got to be acquainted with the Princess to a level. Which with time, extended to Billy's cousin Duncan.

Now back to the story: The princess has pulled him hard because he has diverted from the path and is now walking by the shoreline of a crocodile infested river, which he only notices when he looks around. Filled with shock and embarrassment, he helps the princess to her feet and apologizes. As they continue on the original path he had taken, she asks him why his mind was so far from the present, that he didn't realize he was putting his life at risk. He replies by telling her how his life has been since the last time they saw each other; How he had gotten a good job as a researcher but had gotten distracted by fantasy, which costed him his job. Of which he hasn't gotten such an opportunity since.

By now, they have arrived at the boy's doorstep and he invites the Princess and her entourage of guards in. The Princess asks to have some alone time with the boy and so the guards excuse them. It is just the two of them talking when she asks Duncan, "would you like another opportunity at the being a researcher? The assignment is at a location, very far from here and very different from the other researches you have ever been involved in." He looks up and stares at her for a minute and then thanks her profusely and an excited Duncan,  without hesitation gives a definite "Yes" to the princess.
